NEW CASTLE — Firefighters are investigating two more suspicious fires in vacant buildings this morning in New Castle, which has been plagued by more than 50 similar fires since last year.

Officials in New Castle said the first fire was reported about 2 a.m. today in a vacant commercial building. The second fire destroyed a vacant home a couple miles away.

No injuries were reported in the fires.

The fires appear to be suspicious, but have yet to be ruled arsons.

The city has had more than 50 arsons in vacant buildings since January 2008.
