I think large insurance companies need stopped. UPMC is taking over Western PA and I don't hear anyone concerned about it at all. They pay Allegheny General and probably Butler Memorial less for participants in their health plan than they do their own hospitals. Allegheny General has filed suit and has proof of it. If it weren't for Vernon Wise, UPMC would already own Butler Hospital. He spoke out and woke every one up - and just in time, too! Once they have the monopoly, they will charge whatever they want. I know my insurance has tripled in the 8 years I have worked at my current job. People are complacent and don't pay attention. They listen to big mouths on the radio and act as if they speak facts. I think there should be a nationalized health plan, and I think sales taxes should pay for it. That's the only way it will be fair - everyone will pay, everyone will be covered.
