The Slippery Rock Sliders still have not beaten their Frontier League expansion counterparts.

Southern Illinois scored five runs in the first inning Friday night, then broke a 5-all tie by scoring three times in the third and three more times in the fourth en route to a 14-7 victory.

The host Miners swept a three-game series from the Sliders last weekend. The two teams play again Saturday and Sunday in Marion, Ill.

Starting pitcher Nick Tracy took the loss for the Sliders (8-21), who dropped their ninth straight game and have the worst record in the league.

The Sliders managed to collect 11 hits in the contest. They entered the game with a .219 team batting average.

Casey Bowling, hitting .320, is the only player on the Sliders roster with a batting average above .275.
