Kings halt Sliders' win streak
SLIPPERY ROCK — The Slippery Rock Sliders' three-game winning streak came to an end with a 6-0 loss to the Kalamazoo (Mich.) Kings Tuesday night.
Sliders starter Dan Schwartz gave up three runs over seven innings, but got no offensive support. Reliever Chris Rubio surrendered three ninth-inning runs that secured the Kings' victory.
Kalamazoo shortstop Andrew Smith scored the game's first run in the fourth inning and the kings picked up two more runs in the seventh.
First baseman Kevin Holley collected two hits for the Sliders (13-37), who finish the three-game set with Kalamazoo at 7:05 tonight at Jack Critchfield Park.
