NFL players back better phys ed
WASHINGTON — NFL players are coming to Capitol Hill to tackle an important issue — physical education in schools.
The football players are getting behind legislation that is intended to improve phys ed. They are set to appear at a news conference today in support of the FIT Kids Act and also plan to lead youngsters in fitness activities at the Capitol.
The bill would require schools, districts and states to report on students' physical activity and to provide health and nutritional information to them.
Brendon Ayanbadejo of the Baltimore Ravens will be among those appearing.
