Air Force Sr. Master Sgt.

LuWana Hargis, has been selected for promotion to the rank of chief master sergeant, the highest enlisted rank, and is the first female in history to reach this rank in the fuels specialist career field.She and her husband, Christopher Hargis, make their home in Oklahoma, where she is stationed at Altus Air Force Base as a fuels manager.The 24-year Air Force veteran is a 1982 alumna of East Brady High School and is a 1991 graduate of the Community College of the Air Force and a 1999 graduate of the University of Maryland.She is the daughter of Richard and Lucille Staugh of Chicora RD 1.——Army Pfc.

Evan Myers has graduated from basic training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, S.C.He is the son of Carol Myers of Butler and Don Myers of McGrann, Armstrong County.Myers is a 2004 graduate of Lenape Vocational-Technical High School, Ford City, and received a degree from Butler County Community College in 2006.——

Pvt. <B>Shane Seybert</B>, son of Timothy and Lisa Seybert of Butler, graduated April 13 from Marine basic training at Parris Island, S.C., with 3rd Battalion India Co.The 2004 alumnus of Butler High will received a month of combat training at Camp Gieger, N.C., before being assigned to Pensacola, Fla., for training as an aviation mechanic.
