Three more baseball playoff berths were secured Tuesday night when Cincinnati, the New York Yankees and Tampa Bay captured victories.

n In Cincinnati, the Reds are headed to the playoffs for the first time in 15 years, completing the long-awaited trip with Jay Bruce's one dramatic swing.

Bruce homered on the first pitch from Tim Byrdak in the bottom of the ninth for a 3-2 victory over the Houston Astros that secured the NL Central title.

• In Toronto, the Yankees clinched their 15th postseason berth in the last 16 years and CC Sabathia got his 21st win of the season, beating the Toronto Blue Jays 6-1.

Derek Jeter scored three runs and drove in another for the Yankees, who have reached the postseason every year but one since 1996.

• In St. Petersburg, Fla., the Rays clinched their second playoff berth in three years, beating the Baltimore Orioles 5-0.

The Rays entered Tuesday with a one-half game lead over the New York Yankees in the AL East.
