Penguins re-sign Stone, Beech
PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed two little-used forwards, Kris Beech and Ryan Stone, and signed another, Bill Thomas, who played seven games for the Phoenix Coyotes last season.
All three players signed one-year contracts.
The 27-year-old Beech was claimed off waivers from the Columbus in January. He had 5 goals and 6 assists in 25 games with the Blue Jackets and Penguins before a broken wrist ended his season Feb. 14.
The 23-year-old Stone played six games with the Penguins last season during three call-ups from the Penguins' AHL farm team.
Thomas spent most of last season with San Antonio of the AHL.
Thomas, 25, is from the Pittsburgh area. He played hockey for nearby Fox Chapel High School.
