Spurs, Jazz get even

SAN ANTONIO — Just like that, the San Antonio Spurs have tied the Western Conference semifinals.

Tim Duncan had 22 points, 15 rebounds and four blocks in the Spurs' 100-80 win Sunday night to even the best-of-seven series with the New Orleans Hornets at 2-2.

"Made some shots tonight," Duncan said. "It's all about moving the ball against these guys. We know where they're coming from. We understand the double teams. We need to find the shooters and knock down the shots."

That they did, hitting 51 percent from the field (39-of-76) to New Orleans' 40 percent (33-of-82).

The Spurs have stormed back from an 0-2 deficit with two double-digit victories, answering the Hornets' routs in Games 1 and 2.

Jazz 123, Lakers 115 OT

SALT LAKE CITY — The Jazz and Lakers are headed back to Los Angeles right where they were before the Western Conference semifinals began: Even.

Utah's 123-115 overtime win over the Lakers on Sunday completed a two-game home sweep for the Jazz that tied the series 2-2.

"It's really big. Really, really big," Utah guard Ronnie Price said. "We turned it into a series now."

Price had four fresh stitches closing a cut over his right eye after one of the more physical games in the series, which returns to Los Angeles for Game 5 on Wednesday.

That gives Kobe Bryant an extra day to rest his ailing back, which he said went out on him early in the first quarter Sunday and bothered him the rest of the game. He still scored 33 points and had 10 assists and eight rebounds.

The Jazz held the Lakers to two field goals in overtime and went 9-for-9 from the foul line.
