PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Pirates have signed right-hander Fernando Nieve, infielder Andy Marte and catcher Dusty Brown to minor league contracts.

All received invitations Wednesday to the Pirates’ major league spring training camp.

The 28-year-old Nieve had a 6.00 ERA in 40 appearances with the Mets last season. He is 8-11 with a 4.61 ERA in 99 games with the Astros and Mets.

The 27-year-old Marte has a .218 average and 20 home runs during six major league seasons. The 28-year-old Brown didn’t break into the majors until 2009 with Boston and has played in 13 games.

The Pirates previously invited minor league relievers Justin Thomas and Sean Gallagher to spring training.
