Butler Township hires DemEx LLC to prepare Pullman Recreation Complex parking lot
BUTLER TWP — Work on one of Pullman Recreation Complex’s proposed parking lots is set to kick off after the township accepted a bid for site preparation.
Township supervisors voted 4-0 at their meeting Monday evening, Sept. 21, to award the complex parking lot site preparation project to DemEx LLC, of Franklin Township, at a cost of $142,725.
“We did receive seven bids. We deeply and thoroughly reviewed all the bids and spoke with the contractor,” township manager Tom Knights said about the selection process.
The preparation work DemEx is set to accomplish is the first step toward building a parking lot south of the complex’s fields off Armco Drive.
During previous meetings, township officials said the lot will include 200 spaces for cars and eight spaces for coach buses. A second lot north of the complex on Hollywood Drive is planned and will add an additional 160 spaces when complete.
Knights said site preparation work is expected to be finished around the end of October.
