I've been sitting on it the entire football season and it's yearning to come to life.

100 wins.

With four high school playoff games to pick this weekend, my record is 99-24. No way am I blowing this.

While a 1-3 mark still gets me to triple figures, I refuse to “back in” to this milestone. That would require flying backwards, after all.

And that is something even I cannot do.

Anyway, on to the picks ...

Karns City 46, Moniteau 12 — The Warriors get their rematch, but it may not be pretty.

When these teams met in the regular season, the Gremlins had a 41-0 lead by halftime and won by that same score.

One can argue that Moniteau has vastly improved by then, having won four of its last five, including a convincing playoff win at St. Marys last week to get to this game.

But Karns City is Karns City.

3,192 yards rushing. 58 touchdowns on the ground. Averaging more than eight yards per carry. This team has thrown for 1,000 yards as well — just for fun.

The Warriors won't be shut out, but they won't derail the Gremlins.

Central Valley 27, Mars 17 — Tough one to call here as these teams have been scorching hot. Central Valley hasn't lost since a season-opening 17-14 defeat to Montour.

The Planets have reeled off eight straight wins in their own right, including a 35-0 thumping of Ringgold last week in what may have been their best performance yet.

But Central Valley rolled to a 42-9 win over Hampton a week ago and provides a potent balanced attack that could end another stellar Mars football campaign.

Aliquippa 32, Freeport 22 — I gotta say this, though. Don't count the Yellowjackets out.

Their win over Washington in the playoffs last week was impressive and 2,000-yard passer Ryan Weigold can wing the ball all over the field to a bunch of guys. His footballs fly almost as good as I do.

Alas, the Quips bring speed that is tough to prepare for. Their quarterback, Sheldon Jeter, has thrown only three interceptions all season and running back, Kaezon Pugh, has scored 25 touchdowns.

Freeport will hang in, but Aliquippa will win.

CW North Catholic 23, Jeannette 19 — Have the Trojans met their match? We're gonna find out.

CW North Catholic has not been challenged in the playoffs yet, rolling to wins of 35-7 and 49-20 over Union (New Castle) and Bishop Canevin, respectively. The Trojans will be challenged this time.

Giovonne Sanders has thrown for 1,396 yards and has not thrown a pick all year. He's also rushed for 654 yards and the Jayhawks have rushed for more than 2,500 yards as a team.

This could be the game of the night come Friday. Toss a coin if you wish, but I'll take the Trojans.
