Judy, I work for a county hospital in another area, this is not an uncommon practice. It is an opportunity to show your support for the hospital you work for and to help fund projects that need done. Also it allows the hospital to obtain other funds from agencies that will match those funds when they see a show of support from the employees. Economic times are hard..but you wouldn't want to bite the hand that feeds you!
