Henry J. "Hank" Borkowski, 81, of West Freedom near Parker died at 10 a.m. Tuesday at the Clarview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Sligo after a long illness.

Born in Pittsburgh, May 3, 1926, he was the son of Joseph and Bernice Cynosky Borkowski.

He was a producer of electrical transformers at the Allis-Chalmers Corp. on Pittsburgh's North Side for more than 30 years. He also served several decades as an usher at Forbes Field and Three Rivers Stadium in Pittsburgh and was a member of the Ushers Union Local 508.

Mr. Borkowski was a World War II Marine Corps veteran and was a member of American Legion Post 66 of Clarion.

He was a longtime member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church of Pittsburgh.

He was an avid baseball fan and also loved football. He attended the University of Pittsburgh football games, home and away, for many years with his wife; and he was a member of the Pitt Varsity Letter Club.

Surviving are his wife, Madeline Rodgers Borkowski, whom he married Feb. 16, 1952; a daughter, Diane Fair of West Freedom; a son, Henry J. Borkowski Jr. of Pittsburgh; three grandchildren, and two great-grandsons.

He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

<B>BORKOWSKI</B> — Friends of Henry J. "Hank" Borkowski, who died Tuesday, May 15, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>H. Jack Buzard Funeral Home</B>, Wayne Street, Parker. Blessing services will be held Friday morning at the funeral home at a time to be determined. Burial will follow in Perryville Cemetery, near Parker.
