Helen R. McGeever, 89, of Middlesex Township died Tuesday evening at UPMC Passavant Hospital in McCandless Township.

Born in Homestead, Jan. 23, 1918, she was the daughter of Anthony and Theresa Katilius.

She was the owner of McGeever's Shoe Store in Mars.

Mrs. McGeever was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars, where she belonged to the Ladies of Charity.

Surviving are her husband, Joseph T. McGeever, whom she married Aug. 12, 1944; two daughters, Mrs. Larry (Jean) Benton of Steamboat Springs, Colo., and Mrs. Clayton (Kathy) Davis of Lexington, Ky.; her grandchildren, Michaelene Benton of Valencia, Jay and Andrew Benton, both of Steamboat Springs, and Thomas Benton of Sandy, Utah; and two sisters, Katherine Baugher of Cocoa Beach, Fla., and Frances Busch of Munhall.

She was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward and Bernard Katilius.
