I don't remember starting this blog about teachers. I merely replied my thoughts. I never complained about my hours or benefits. You asked me what my profession was and I told you. I compared my job to yours. You complained about having to take classes to keep your credentials. How many software engineers only know VAX or COBOL? My point was that teaching is a part time job. Period. The day someone retires in the corporate world, their benefits are retired as well. Only government workers and teachers feel the need to get benefits after they retire. I think teachers should get paid hourly and should get benefits that match the corporate world.

You really do take the cake. First you cry about how little you make, and then gloat about taking the summer off. I hope the South Butler School Board reads your post. Just listen to yourself and then you will realize why people get furious when you go on strike.
