Piccola

Frank J. "Pic" Piccola, 63, of Freeport Road died Saturday as the result of a fire in his garage.

Born May 26, 1944, in Butler, he was a son of Ella M. Serafine Piccola and the late Frank Joseph Piccola.

He was a 1962 graduate of Butler High School and the Vale Tech of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Piccola retired from Armco-Butler Works after 30 years. He started his career in the cold mill and then was a truck driver in the transportation department. He later was an electrician on the line gang and retired from the locomotive shop in 1994.

During the 1970s and 1980s, he owned and operated a car wash and an automobile inspection station and body shop on Freeport road.

Mr. Piccola was the chairman of the Summit Township Planning Commission.

He was a member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church and the R.C. Men's Club in Herman.

He enjoyed the outdoors, was a registered Penn State Master Gardener and he enjoyed hunting.

Surviving are his wife, Wanda L. Eichenlaub Piccola, whom he married April 30, 1966; two sons, Brent J. Piccola and his wife, Holly, of Butler and Corey A. Piccola of Mercer; a daughter, Shelly A. King and her husband, Michael, of Butler; his mother of Butler; and two sisters, Mrs. Harold (Patricia) Langley of Arlington, Va., and Mrs. William (Teresa "Terri") Wood of Pittsburgh.

Also surviving are four grandchildren, Katie Mae, Kraig M. and Klaudia M. King, and Caroline L. Piccola, all of Butler; and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

<B>PICCOLA </B>—<B> </B>Friends of Frank J. "Pic" Piccola, who died Saturday, May 26, 2007, were received Monday at the <B>Geibel Funeral Home</B>. A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. today at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. James Dolan officiating.
