Richard ‘O.B.’ O’Barto
Richard D. “O.B.” O’Barto, 76, of Evans City, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026.
Born March 27, 1950, in Wilkinsburg, he was the son of the late Anthony D. and Alma Mae (Churchfield) O’Barto.
O.B. was Presbyterian by faith. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in the Vietnam War, and was part of the 101st Airborne paratroopers. After the military, O.B. decided to work in construction until his retirement, but retirement didn’t stop him. He went on to volunteer at Turner Tractor for many years as a detail specialist. He enjoyed hunting, detailing his truck and listening to the oldies.
Richard leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife of 33 years, Barbara (Pritts) O’Barto; his children, Heather, Celeste and Wendy; his brother, Tony; his sisters, Irene, Mary Lou and Hilda; and his granddaughter, Sierra.
In addition to his parents, O.B. was preceded in death by his brother and two sisters.
