Curious if anyone noticed that the SBCSD board actually voted to appoint Ron Armahizer to the vacant seat earlier this week? Armahizer, a previous board member, was voted out in the primary. I was at the meetings where Armahizer was appointed initially, and i saw all of the interviews of the candidates at that time. There were some VERY qualified candidates interviewing at that time. During the interview process, i actually felt sorry for Armahizer, as he seemed to have no clue as to how to answer the questions the board presented. So imagine my shock when on the first vote the next meeting, all but one person voted for him! I could not believe my ears! Things became clear to me at the next meeting, when i saw Armahizer and Jones "yukking it up" before the start of the meeting. It was clear they were friends, perhaps longtime friends.

The fact that they would even consider appointing this guy again is an insult to every voter in the district.

I was asked to be a member of drug testing task force panel for the district. Armahizer was there, and he was an embarrassment to the board.

While i have generally supported the board, i find both the appointing of "buddies" and this most recent slap in the face of voters to be very disturbing.

I do not know if the most recent appointee, Todd Cimbala, has friends on the board or not. I would hope not.
