Cass, a couple of things. One, I read an article once about Indian students who had gone to high school both in their native country and the United States. All had gone to schools in diverser parts of both nations. All agreed on two things, those being that American students were much worse behaved than Indian students and American teachers were much better than their Indian counterparts. So, your assumption about international students, namely Indians, and American teachers is based on your opinion and has no basis in reality. Could it be American teachers were better since they receive better compensation as compared to their Indian counterparts?

Second, international students who come to the United States to study are the best of the best in their nations. It is an oranges and apples comparison that you made between international and American students. American students who study abroad tend to be the best of the best from this nation and often impress their foreign counterparts. Plus, your son probably was not mature enough for the collegiate level when he first arrived. A lack of maturity is a problem for many freshman who were successful in high school but struggle when they first get to college. Stop patting yourself and him on the back for gaining maturity at the next level of education beyond high school. Cass, you think you are right simply because you have an opinion.
