Esther Mae Mitcheltree, 93, of Concordia at the Orchard, in Butler, passed away Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026.

She was born Feb. 22, 1933, in Worth Township, Mercer County, to Floyd and Dessie (McClelland) Westlake.

Esther graduated from Sandy Lake High School and Sharon General Hospital School of Nursing. She worked at Deshon VA Hospital and Sunnyview Nursing Center.

Esther was a member of Community Alliance Church in Butler.

On Feb. 26, 1955, Esther married her husband, H. Clair Mitcheltree, who preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1997.

Esther is survived by three children, Thomas (Paulette) Mitcheltree, Ronald (Janet) Mitcheltree and Russell (Kelly) Mitcheltree. She is also survived by grandchildren, Beth Cavaliero, Lori Cavaliero and Nickolas (Kendell) Mitcheltree; and great-grandchildren, Evan Knauer, Adam Knauer, Liza (Tyler) Knaus, Holly Zulick and Grace Mitcheltree.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Janet (Samuel) Zimmerman; and brother, Charles (Patricia) Westlake.

Esther's family wishes to express their deepest appreciation to the staff of Concordia at the Orchard for the compassionate care they provided during her eight years of residence.

MITCHELTREE — A visitation for Esther Mae Mitcheltree, who died Thursday, Sept. 17, 2026, will be held from 11 a.m. to noon, with a funeral service immediately following at noon, on Tuesday, Sept. 22, at THOMPSON-MILLER FUNERAL HOME, 124 E. North St., Butler.

Esther will be laid to rest beside her husband at Summit Presbyterian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Community Alliance Church, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, PA 16001.
