Luke Myers fuels win for Knoch boys soccer: Highlights & scores

Luke Myers found the net twice and Ryan Karwoski earned a clean sheet in Knoch boys soccer’s 5-0 win Thursday against host Valley.

Luca Perri, Whit Schwalm and Walker Stewart each added a goal for the Knights (3-4, 2-1).

North Catholic 4, Beaver 1 — The Trojans fell behind early, but stormed back to win this section clash at J.C. Stone Field.

Matthew Liscinsky scored two goals and added an assist. Jackson Schlegel scored on a penalty kick and added one helper.

Evan Laibenthal scored once for the Trojans (7-0, 4-0).

Karns City 1, Keystone 1 — KC goalie Brock Dittman made 17 saves to preserve this stalemate.

Trevor Rumbaugh scored for the Gremlins on an assist from Marcos Chopen.

Freeport 4, Burrell 0 — Conor Rumbaugh, Xavier DeWitt, Spencer Valasek and Zach Lasko all scored for the Yellowjackets, who received a clean sheet from Judah Thompson.

Seneca Valley 7, North Hills 0 — The Raiders dominated the visiting Indians, with Jacob Prex scoring twice.

Max Gochis, Zach White, Chase Lively, Ryan Zirpoli and Marcus Madder all added a goal and Kyle DeMaster earned the shutout.

Boys golf

Jacob Wallace came in with a two-under-par 33, and four other Seneca Valley golfers carded 38 or below as the Raiders topped Mars 176-186 Thursday at Cranberry Highlands.

Also turning in strong rounds for SV were Will Pefferman (34), Josh Marquardt (35), Lucas Barber (36) and Bradley Steiner (38).

The Planets received a pair of 35s from Jackson Geiger and Finn McKenzie, a 38 from Landon Mitro and 39s courtesy of Casey Klinefelter and Camden Kleba.

Girls volleyball

After dropping the first set, Freeport won the next three to defeat a strong Clarion-Limestone squad by scores of 16-25, 25-11, 25-14 and 25-19.

Evie Tola led a potent attack with 14 kills, Emily Boylan added 12 kills and Jayme Radvan eight.

Macy Stivenson served up seven aces and Caylee Zembrzuski had 36 assists for the Yellowjackets (7-0).

General McLane 3, Slippery Rock 0 — The Rockets were swept on the road by scores of 25-16, 26-24 and 25-19.

Gia Kovacik had 13 kills in the loss, Lyla Runtas 18 Digs and Lexi Caldwell 23 assists and 10 digs.

Mt. Lebanon 3, Butler 1 — Raina Lewandowski dropped 16 kills and added 12 digs for the Golden Tornado, who won the third set against the Blue Devils.

Campbell Clouse tallied 12 assists and three kills for Butler and Harper Geibel contributed five kills.

Clarion 3, Moniteau 0 — Maddy Eury had nine digs and nine assists, Emily Matz eight kills and eight digs for the Warriors in this loss.

Knoch 3, Beaver 1 — Leading this victory for the Knights (5-2, 4-0) was Emma Rivers with nine kills. Alyssa Patterson had seven kills and Emersyn Jones had 15 digs.

Girls soccer

Bree O'Donnell scored twice and added an assist in Karns City’s 7-0 shutout of Keystone.

Katelyn VanDyke added a goal and three assists while teammates Phoebe Brandon, Izzy Hartz, Carleigh Lucas and Molly Mahood each found the net once.

Peyton Claypool recorded the shutout.

Girls golf

North Catholic defeated Seton LaSalle 173-215 at Pheasant Ridge Golf Course, with Riley Kontul’s 39 pacing the Trojanettes.

Cam Greiner’s 42 led the Rebels.

Butler 230, Ambridge 231 — In their final match of the season, the Golden Tornado (1-12) avoided a winless campaign by edging the Bridgers at Hiland Golf Course.

Scoring for Butler were Lilly Bauer (51), Katie Dick (58), Eliza Lozosky (59) and Abbie Steele 62.
