Ankle bracelet severed, probationer now on the run
WASHINGTON TWP — The search is on for a probationer who is accused of cutting off his ankle bracelet and walking away from his home last week.
Butler County detectives Friday obtained an arrest warrant for Brent J. Bish, 23, on a felony charge of escape.
State police said Bish was already on house arrest Feb. 18 when the Butler County probation office got an alert that he had tampered with his GPS monitoring bracelet, authorities said.
A probation officer went to the defendant's home on Water Lane and found that he had removed his bracelet and left, according to court documents.
Bish on Dec. 28 was sentenced to 105 days on house arrest.
Court records showed that he received the sentence after pleading guilty to charges of driving under the influence and possession of drug paraphernalia, stemming from a state police arrest June 17, 2017, in Center Township.
