re to Hiliary about the dogs
I really do not believe the majority of the pet owners are responsible.
Your right not every one can afford fences - I went with the invisible fence to keep Rusty in - which was the cheapest (really) now I have to put up an actual fence to keep other dogs out because of the dog's owners. I do love animals and wouldn't want to shoot any but it has crossed my mind a few times - that is why the fence is going up - to protect Rusty and my idiot neighbor's dogs. I can't afford that but I can't afford injuries to my dog or someone else's - or myself....I know I could go to small claims court after the fact........how will that solve the problems? Should I call the police everytime I have a dog problem in the neighborhood - I know they have enough to do as it is. I have taken stray labs (my neigborhood is full of them) back to thier owners several times - they were nice friendly dogs - not all of them are. I was bit when I was 7 or 8 - I still have 3 teeth marks / scars on my stomach from a "friendly lab." The neighbors didnt do anything - until he bit a teenager in the face. Scars to his face - not his eyes. I just wish people - if they really loved their pets they would be responsible at all times. But they are not - that's why most of shelters are packed. As for this womans neighbor, the police investigated - if the shooter just shot the dog to get even -
I think they would have filed a charge against him even a misdeameanor. I guess what really upsets me is the fact the dog doesn't have her back legs - that shouldn't have happened - dogs are like little kids and we have to protect them - period. We don't have the nieghbors point of view? I'd like to hear that view....
