Flawed Logic

So, if the people of Etna lived in a known flood plane and did not have flood insurance, they're SOL? OK, I'll agree with that, we each have personal responsibilities. But the flash flood in Etna as well as the earthquake in Haiti were both sudden and unexpected acts of nature. The people in New Orleans had advanced warning and DAYS to evacuate and a lot did, but many decided to "ride it out." Don't feel sorry for those who chose to stay behind, they deserved what they got. Feel sorry for those who left and are still trying to get back on their feet because if it wasn't lost in the storm, it was stolen by the hoods who remained behind. And if they weren't there, they wouldn't have had to steal, so that argument is just another excuse. If the peopel of Haiti had advanced notice of the earthquake and the death and destruction it was going to cause, do you think they would have fled if given the opportunity? Of course they would have because they have not been spoiled like those in our country who are always depending on someone else to pick them up or fix everything. So please don't compare the two because stupidity, ignorance and a feeling of entitlement after ignoring the evacuation decree are not an excuse and are not comparable to a sudden unexpected disaster that killed hundreds of thousands. Feel sorry and send aid to them, but remember, New Orleans is below sea level, they knew the storm was coming, they had days to evacuate and yet some people decided to stay. Don't feel sorry or shed many tears for those who remained behind and are the ones screaming the loudest about the "injustice" they've suffered, because they refused to take personal responsibilty and now won't accept the consequences of their actions or lack thereof.
