Slippery Rock boys soccer blows past Conneaut, KSAC names golf all-stars: Roundup
Wade Freehling led a balanced scoring effort with two goals in Slippery Rock’s 9-1 boys soccer rout of Conneaut on Wednesday.
Zach Lasko had two goals, and Cody Freehling and Sam Caton each had a goal and assist for the Rockets.
Jade Breese scored two goals and added two assists as Mars thumped Ambridge 7-0.
Katie Blake added two goals and Miley Gratton, Peyton Thimons and Julia Siket all scored once. Lexi Whitling and Mackenzie Powell both dished out two assists.
Freeport 11, Highlands 0 — The Yellowjackets moved to 5-1 overall and 3-0 in section play. No other details were available.
Moniteau’s boys and girls finished third in a quad-meet against Cranberry Area, Central Clarion and Keystone. Peyton Beck (18:39) led the boys with a second-place finish, and Alexis Kirschner (23:13) paced the girls in fourth.
A-C Valley/Union’s Joe Rapp and Koen Strauser, and Karns City’s Liam Hobaugh were named All-KSAC First Team Boys Golf on Wednesday. Keystone’s Sean Karg earned MVP. Moniteau’s Isaac Book and Brennan Kelley made the second team, as did KC’s Cade Ritzert.
Mars 186, Butler 206 — Finn McKenzie (35), Luka Zatchey (36) and Casey Kleinfelder (37) led the Planets to victory at Suncrest Golf Course. For the Golden Tornado (11-4, 5-4), Levi McClellan and Isaac Miller both carded a 40.
Moniteau won the ninth KSAC mega match of the year at Hi-Level Golf Course by two strokes, beating Brookville 139-141. A-C Valley finished fourth out of five teams. Hayden Hilliard led the Warriors with a round of 42, finishing third, and Kennedy Kinney led A-C Valley with a 46 for fourth.
North Allegheny 179, Butler 226 — The Tornado fell to 0-12 (0-11 section). Lilly Bauer led the team with a 52 at Diamond Run Golf Club, while Katie Dick shot a 55.
