Norma Jean Kyper, 81, of Butler, peacefully passed away in the comfort of her home on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026.

Born Aug. 15, 1945, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Edward Kiezkowski and Anna Durai Kiezkowski.

Norma graduated from Butler Senior High School in 1963. Over the years, she worked at Krause Bakery, Barkus Candy and 3B’s Tobacco.

She was a member of All Saints Parish and attended St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, fishing and going to car cruises and she treasured her many great friends.

Norma is survived by her loving husband, Duane Samuel Kyper, whom she married Aug. 21, 1965; two children, Deborah Schrecengost and her husband, Jimmy, of Butler, and Donald Kyper and his wife, Tracy, of Virginia; one sister, Mary Ann Rodda and her husband, Richard, of Maryland; and a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Norma was preceded in death by her brother, Eddie “Kow” Kiezkowski.

KYPER — Friends of Norma Jean Kyper, who died Monday, Sept. 14, 2026, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, Sept. 18, at MARTIN FUNERAL HOME SOUTH SIDE, 429 Center Ave., Butler.

Visitation will also be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 19, at the funeral home.

A Mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. Saturday, at All Saints Parish, St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church, 432 Center Ave., Butler, with the Rev. John J. Baver officiating.
