Mention of insurance companies by Cass prompts me to relate what happened today. I recently received the premium notice for my vehicle insurance. Upon checking I realized there was an increase of TEN PER CENT over last year. I called my agent and advised her I would be shopping around. "Let me check something" she says. Now would you believe I lost the auto homeowner's discount. The company has my home insured also. After more checking she decided she was just perplexed as to how the computer just disallowed my my discount. I'm pretty perplexed myself having worked with computers since they used punch cards and have yet to see a computer do anything all by itself. Insurance companies are hedging their bets, they know change is coming. Incidentally my presription drug coverage premium went up over nineteen per cent.
