Harry Mikus
Harry J. Mikus, of Gibsonia, passed away Saturday, Sept. 5, 2026, at the age of 94.
Born in Pittsburgh on Aug. 31,1932, he was the son of the late Harry H. Mikus and Lillie Woods Mikus, and the brother of the late Joan Mikus Wuerl.
Harry was the devoted husband of 69 years of the late Joyce K. Mikus. He was the loving father of Lisa Ibinson (Thomas) and Lori Kremer (Dean); proud grandfather of Henry Ibinson, Thomas Ibinson (Julia), Jack Ibinson (Brooke), Emma Kremer and Claire Kremer; and great-grandfather of Thomas Ibinson.
Harry graduated from Carnegie Tech (now Carnegie Mellon University) at the age of 19, with a degree in engineering, and later went on to earn his MBA from Fairleigh Dickinson University. After serving his country in the Army, he continued his career as a sales manager at Worthington Industries, in Ohio; followed by 15 years at Stewart-Warner Corp., in Indianapolis, where he traveled extensively throughout Europe and Japan; and then he spent 23 years with Airco/BOC, located in New Jersey.
Always an avid golfer, Harry was also an accomplished pianist, and after retiring back to his hometown of Pittsburgh, he began a second career playing professionally at special events. Harry was also a 32nd Degree Mason of the North Hills Lodge No. 716, and was awarded his 50-year pin.
He and Joyce were an inseparable team throughout their long marriage, and they continued to travel and spend as much time as they possibly could with their cherished grandchildren. Even into his final days, Harry could always be found sitting at his faithful piano.
The song has ended but the melody lingers of a long life, well lived.
