I agree with you that a signed contract is a signed contract. As it pertains to healthcare, though, 10 years ago when local governments and school districts gave their retirees free healthcare for life, they could't have foreseen a 556% increase in the costs. It makes no sense that the costs have risen that much, but they have. So now, local governments - and AK steel by the way - are trying to get out of paying these retirees free healthcare for life. It is breaking their (our) backs. Without reigning in these runaway healthcare costs, if the next 10 years create another 500% increase, the companies, school districts and local governments - and we the people - will be totally bankrupt.
