The United States Postal Service is an independent agency of the US and receives no taxpayer funds. I suggest you Google USPS for clarification. It is failing for several reasons, e-mail, Fedex and UPS. And I suspect the resonsibilties to it's retirees has had an impact. Early retirement, cashing in sick days and vacation days saved adds up. Social Security is going broke earlier than expected because of unemployment. And that wouldn't be the case if both Democrats and Republicans hadn't dipped into that fund to balance the Federal budget in the past.
