LaRose J. Black, 91, of Butler died at 5 a.m. Thursday at Butler Memorial Hospital.

Born Oct. 20, 1915, in Natrona, she was the daughter of Frank and Sadie Diamond Jaffe.

She was a member of the Covenant Presbyterian Church, the AARP and the Tanglewood Senior Center.

Mrs. Black had worked at Ralph's Shoe Store for years.

Surviving are a son, Terry Lee Black of San Antonio, Texas; a daughter, Sheila Black of Dallas, Texas; three grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Black, who died April 9, 1973; two brothers, and a sister.
