I am all for freedom of expression, but let's be reasonable. If I cannot see this kid's eyes, he cannot see the blackboard, his book, his teacher, any learning aids WHAT SO EVER! His hair has become a distraction to his own learning. Not that his educationally challenged mother would notice that. It looks as though his 6th grade status has put mommie's 4th grade education to shame! I saw that video and that mom needs a stern talking to on the nature of being a parent: send your child to school; present your child to his/her educators in a fashion that shows he/she is ready to learn; and teach your child that there are in fact consequences for your actions!

I can tell you with a great degree of certianty... the teacher PROBABLY yelled at the child for the hair situation, told him to get his hair out of his face. At which point he probably mouthed off saying it wont stay out of his face. Teacher probably then offered bobby pins, kid declined. Teacher probably then offered tape, SMART ALLECK kid says... "sure i'll take the tape" Once young smart mouth kid tapes his own hair he realizes what a bone headed move it was and heads off to the boys room to cry and call his mommie. Oh, by the way... please tell me he got a detention for using a cell phone in school!!! You do realize that use of cell phones is AGAINST SCHOOL POLICY!!
