Hi Cass, I think everyone is entitled to wear their hair the way they wish.If they dress like a slob they are only hurting themselves.(in my view) If you don't like how someone looks,... look the other way.I do know what you mean. I see folks dressed like ghetto rats all over with their pants hanging down so far you can see their underwear. They look ridiculous, I agree, but that is their right. I am old fashioned. I wear a belt and tuck my dress shirt in. By todays standards I don't dress cool.But this is my perogative and what I feel comfortable with. I would not want anyone telling me to do otherwise and the same thing with my hair. I have worn my hair with a certain style all my life. That is my business and no one elses. I feel that this teacher acted like a Nazi by doing what she did to the young man at school. She had no right. Her job is to teach not dictate fashion advice.Maybe if the teachers actually did teach instead of being gestapo our children would get a better education.This is proof to me of how poorly the teachers understand our children.If they fail on this level how are they supposed to teach the children?You have to understand what makes kids tick before you can evaluate their needs.I know what your saying about dressing like a slob. To us "old school" folks that is how it looks but people have to be individuals. looking back at the last 50 years, its pretty easy to see how ridiculous we look when we try to dictate to others how and what is acceptable.Change is inevitable and everyone has their own interpretation of how something or how they should look.We shouldn't stifle personal choices or preferences.We don't have the right to tell anyone what they should do.Live and let live.I like music from the 60's 70's and 80's specifically. Should everyone be forced to listen to what I like? Absolutely not.It's called culture, and it is very diversified.That is what makes us who we are.If we stifle others creativeness based on our own likes and dislikes we are changing who we are as a people.
