Hey, I agree with you. I reread my post and I guess I wasn't very clear. I meant to say that every time somebody says something to a teacher, their first retort is that we - in other professions - are jealous of them. My point was, that if we - in other professions - wanted to be teachers, we could have. They chose their professions just as we chose ours. The only difference is, if we go on strike, we don't get paid, if they go on strike, they make their full salary. They have no reason NOT to strike and the way things are, they would be crazy not to strike. Why not? If I got my healthcare benefits for $10 a month and somebody wanted to raise it to what others pay - in my case $400/month, I would go on strike too, especially knowing I would get my full salary either way.
