Meehan

William E. Meehan, 91, of Butler died at 4 p.m. Tuesday at the Sunnyview Home.

Born July 29, 1916, in Lisbon, Ohio, he was the son of Clyde B. and Nannie Birch Meehan.

He was an Army veteran of World War II.

Mr. Meehan retired from Franklin Glass. He also was an electrician and was self-employed in construction.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

He was a past master of the Victory Lodge 694 F&AM and was member of the York Rite 273, the Tall Cedars of Lebanon, the Syria Shriners, the Knights of York Cross Honor and the Red Cross of Constantine.

Surviving are a daughter and two sons, Laurie Christy and William B. and George E. "Spike" Meehan, all of Butler; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

His wife, Marjorie V. Arris Meehan, whom he married June 27, 1941, died June 16, 2000. He also was preceded in death by a daughter, a sister and two brothers

Jefferson St. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. William Gumpper officiating.
