Aurora V. Barrera
Aurora Villanueva Barrera, 68, died Sept. 15 in Fort Pierce, Fla.
Born May 12, 1939, in Narvacan, Philippines, she moved from Butler to Fort Pierce 25 years ago.
She had been a midwife in the Philippines, first editor of Midwifery Magazine, graduated magna cum laude from midwifery and obtained many awards. She was a medical technologist and medical cytotechnologist and also managed the office for her husband's practice in Fort Pierce.
Survivors include her husband, Rodolfo Barrera; a daughter, Rhodora Caplin of Miami, Fla.; sons, Rommel Barrera of Gainesville, Fla., David Barrera of Flagler County, Fla., and Romeo Barrera of Melbourne, Fla.; and four grandchildren.
