Margaret Olson
Margaret Evelyn "Peggy" Reno Cooper Gibson Newton Olson, 70, of Ellwood City died Sunday at her home.
Born March 4, 1937, she was the daughter of James H. and Rhoda Davis Reno.
She was a mother and wife, was active in Girl Scouting and was employed at Sky Bank for 20 years.
As part of the Outreach Ministry of the Free Methodist Church of Ellwood City, she was a Sunday pianist and speaker at Hill View Manor for more than 25 years. She also taught Sunday school and was organist and pianist for 50 plus years at her church.
She held many offices, including the presidency, of the Eastbrook Garden Club. She enjoyed square dancing and was an active member of the Paws and Taws Square Dance Club of New Castle.
She enjoyed vegetable and flower gardening and loved to feed and observe the wild birds indigenous to her yard. She loved the Lord, her family and the world around her and will be missed by all.
Surviving are two daughters, Naomi Cooper Bynum and Pamala Cooper; a granddaughter, Kelsey Bynum from her marriage to Charles Cooper (deceased); stepchildren, Bruce, Scott and Andrew Gibson from her marriage to Earl Gibson (deceased); Richard, Robert, Bruce, and Scott Newton from her marriage to Robert Newton (deceased); Tim and Bradley Olson and Paula Olson O'Connor from her marriage to Paul Olson (deceased); and numerous grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
She also is survived by two brothers, James and Jon Reno; three sisters, Barbara Dymond, Joyce Mulhollen and Kathy Reno; and many nieces and nephews.
<B>OLSON</B> — Friends of Margaret Evelyn Olson, who died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2007, will be received from 3 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>MARSHALL FUNERAL HOME</B>, Ellwood City. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home with her pastor, the Rev. Bob Mitchell officiating. Burial will be at the Mount Hope Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Jameson Hospice or the Free Methodist Church of Ellwood City.
