Slupe tossing coin at tonight’s Mars football game
Butler County Sheriff Mike Slupe is performing the ceremonial coin toss at tonight’s Mars Are High School Planet’s football game.
The nonprofit U.S. United is partnering with the Sheriff’s Unity Network to bring six strangers together to share seats at sporting events, cheer, be recognized and build relationships.
Members of the sheriff’s office and Slupe will be attending the Mars Planet’s football game where Slupe will performing the ceremonial coin toss, meeting with families and recognizing other first responders on the anniversary of 9/11.
“On this 25th anniversary of the atrocious attacks on our nation and the actions of all responders and victims, it is an honor to be a part of this commemoration. The Unity program is a small step in both the recognition and healing process for all involved,” Slupe said.
