PITTSBURGH — A Western Pennsylvania woman and her twins are doing well, a day after one was born in a car on the way to a Pittsburgh hospital, where the other child was delivered a short time later.

Danielle Bowers, 27, of Leechburg gave birth to twin girls Sevira and Sasha early Sunday. Her fiance, Jason Holt, 29, is the father.

When Bowers went into labor, her mother, Tammy Beer, began driving her to West Penn Hospital, about 30 miles away. Holt and Bowers' father were following in a separate vehicle when Bowers began to give birth.

PITTSBURGH — Authorities in Western Pennsylvania say an early morning house fire claimed the life of a 2-year-old girl.Pittsburgh officials say the two-alarm blaze broke out shortly before 5 a.m. in a three-story house in the Larimer neighborhood of the city.Detective Michael Burns says five adults and another child escaped.But the body of Sanita Thompson was found on a bed in a second-floor bedroom.Two firefighters were treated for burns on their hands that happened as they tried in vain to enter the house to rescue the child.

BENEZETTE — Authorities in central Pennsylvania have released the name of a 60-year-old Connecticut man killed in the crash of a small plane in Elk County.Elk County Coroner Louis Radkowski on Saturday identified the victim as 60-year-old Aaron Olmsted of South Windsor, Conn.Officials say he was flying the single-engine plane that went down in a wooded area of Benezette Township just before 6 p.m. Friday.
