Helen F. Bratina, 90, of Zelienople, formerly of Evans City, died Sunday at the Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford.

Born Sept. 30, 1917, in Braddock, she was the daughter of Joseph and Eva Riberich Zmejich.

Mrs. Bratina retired from Mine Safety Appliances after 15 years.

She was a member of St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church in Evans City, where she belonged to the Christian Mothers.

She enjoyed gardening and loved caring for her family.

Surviving are a daughter, Kathryn E. Kost and her husband, Conrad E., of Zelienople; three grandchildren, Jennifer Kost of Fredericksburg, Va., Benjamin Kost of Export and Douglas Kost of Dayton, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Luke.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Stephen J. Bratina, who died Nov. 21, 1964; two brothers, Nick and Matt Riberich, and a sister, Anne Brattina.

<B>BRATINA</B> — Friends of Helen F. Bratina, who died Sunday, Oct. 28, 2007, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday at St. Matthias Roman Catholic Church, 417 E. Main St., Evans City, with the Rev. Robert Miller officiating.
