Erla F. Eppinger

Erla F. Bingham Eppinger, 97, of Plain Grove Road, Slippery Rock, died at 10 p.m. Saturday at the Grove City Medical Center.

Born Oct. 22, 1910, in Plain Grove Township, Lawrence County, she was the daughter of Cassius Charles Bingham and Pearl Elizabeth Rhodes.

She was a 1928 graduate of the Plain Grove High School.

Mrs. Eppinger enjoyed gardening and needlework and took great pride in her home, garden and flowers. Her greatest joy was her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was an active member of the Plain Grove Presbyterian Church, where she had served as a deacon.

Surviving are a daughter, Shirley Hillmar and her husband, Bud, of New Wilmington; a son, Jack R. Eppinger of Plain Grove Township; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Her husband, Gaylord Charles Eppinger, whom she married May 20, 1933, died March 15, 1972. She also was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Beverly Hillmar Riddle; a brother, Howard Bingham; and four sisters, Ruth McKee, Alice Pander and Mabel and Dana Bingham.

<B>EPPINGER </B>— Friends of Erla F. Bingham Eppinger, who died Saturday, Nov. 3, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Smith Funeral Home</B>, 1778 Perry Highway, Leesburg. Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Herbert Goetz, her church pastor, officiating. Burial will be at the South Plain Grove Cemetery, Plain Grove Township.
