Ethel J. Baker
Ethel J. Baker, 89, of Baker Lane in Harrisville died at 7:15 a.m. Monday at Grove Manor, Grove City.
Born in Franklin Township, Oct. 27, 1918, she was the daughter of Newton G. and Wilda S. Strickenburg English.
She was a homemaker.
Mr. Baker was a member of the West Unity Community Church in Marion Township, where she belonged to the Women's Missionary Society. She also was a volunteer at the Seneca Hills Bible Camp.
Surviving are a daughter, Charlotte D. Murray of Harrisville; a son, Vernon L. Baker of Glennallen, Alaska; 11 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren, and a sister, Evelyn Grooms of Saxonburg.
Her husband, Charles R. Baker, whom she married Nov. 1, 1934, died July 12, 1968. Two sons and three brothers also preceded her in death.
<B>BAKER</B> — Friends of Ethel J. Baker, who died Monday, Dec. 10, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Jamison Funeral Home</B>, 117 N. Main St., Harrisville. A celebration of her going home will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the West Unity Community Church, 400 Unity Road, Harrisville, with the Rev. Boyd Smith officiating.
