State police are investigating a shooting as an attempting homicide that occurred in the early morning Thursday, Sept. 10, along Oneida Valley Road in Allegheny Township.

Police said a 38-year-old man called police around 3:47 a.m. Thursday who said he had been shot multiple times by an unknown person while he was hitching his tractor trailer in a parking lot in the 3800 block of Oneida Valley Road.

The man was transported to a hospital for treatment, according to a news release from state police.

Oneida Valley Road was temporarily closed Thursday morning from Interstate 80 to Sand Point Road. The investigation is ongoing, and there is no known threat to the public at this time, police said.
