State police are offering a $5,000 reward for information that solves the case of a missing Washington Township woman last seen in 1983.

Doris Stalker, of Hilliards in Washington Township, was 54 at the time of her disappearance Monday, Nov. 28, 1983, from the parking lot of the former Super Duper market along River Avenue in Emlenton, Venango County.

Her husband told police he was inside the store for six to seven minutes before he came out to find the passenger door of their vehicle wide open with Stalker missing. Her purse was still in the vehicle.

Stalker was 5 feet tall weighing 100 lbs. with brown eyes and short, dark brown hair at the time of her disappearance. She was wearing a 3/4 length imitation brown leather coat, blue jeans and brown suede shoes.

Police said Stalker suffered from an arthritic condition that prevented her from moving great distances without pain.

Police, firefighters and bloodhounds searched the area where she went missing the following day, and scuba divers searched the nearby Allegheny River, but no trace was found.
