Vorpe

Russell “Russ” Vorpe went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026.

Born April 14, 1935, in Pittsburgh, he was the son of the late Stanley H. Vorpe and Dorothy E. Vorpe.

Russ retired from Koppers Company in Pittsburgh in 1997, after a successful career as a cost accountant. He enjoyed spending time in his garden, faithfully cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and, most importantly, cherishing the time he spent with his family. Russ was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, who could always be counted on for support, guidance and encouragement.

Russ proudly served our country from 1958 to 1960 in the U.S. Army, earning the rank of Specialist 4. During his time in the Army, he earned a Good Conduct Medal and a Sharpshooter badge.

Russ is survived by his beloved wife of 19 years, Peggy Vorpe; his daughter, Colleen Faust, and her husband, David; his daughter, Erin Dulacy, and her husband, Mark; his stepdaughter, Kathy Schlegel, and her husband, Rich; and their son, RJ. He also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will cherish his memory.

In addition to his parents, Russ was preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Jane Vorpe.

Russ will be remembered for his kind heart, steadfast devotion to his family and the many lives he touched through his generosity, friendship and service to others. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.

VORPE — Family and friends of Russell “Russ” Vorpe, who died Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at BOYLAN-GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 12, at Grace Community Church, 9160 Marshall Road, Cranberry Township, followed by military honors.
