Andy, I have a very good friend who is a cafeteria worker and when the teachers strike they have to sign up for unemployment (don't forget there is a waiting week). However, last year when the teachers went out for 17 days, it messed up their pay (they get paid once a month) and the cafeteria workers only got like two weeks pay right before Christmas. She was greatly impacted by the strike financially because she had such a small pay check right before Christmas. The unemployment check didn't do much at all for that brief time and she really suffered financially over it.(they are part-time workers) I believe the bus drivers are the same and I don't think South Butler has crossing guards (not sure about that).
