Up by 11 points with 58 seconds left, Butler's boys basketball team held on for a 70-68 upset of Pine-Richland in the WPIAL 6A semifinals Wednesday night at Fox Chapel.

Ethan Morton led Butler with 40 points, but fouled out with 31 seconds left and his team up 70-65.

The lead changed hands nine times and the score was tied five times. Butler junior Luke Patten was injured with :00.2 seconds left and was taken to Children's Hospital for observation.

"He was moving all of his limbs well. On this crazy night, that is most important," Butler coach Matt Clement said.

After the injury, Kyle Polcemissed a free throw, enabling Butler to hold on.

The first half saw three ties and six lead changes. Kyle Polce sank two three-pointers in the final 45 seconds of the half to give the Rams a 32-26 lead at intermission.

Morton had 14 points in the first half for Butler.
