Report of gun shots leads to couple's arrest
A Butler couple have been arrested on felony drug charges after city police responded to their home on reports of gun shots.
Officers went to the 200 block of the Second Street about 7:20 p.m. Sunday after neighbors heard what sounded like a fire alarm. The caller said the people who fired the gun fled in a dark colored car and that the people in 204 Second St. were involved.
Police knocked on the door of the residence and spoke with its occupants, Keith and Norma Reges. Police said Keith Reges, 28, was intoxicated and belligerent, asking to be arrested.
After he was placed in the police cruiser, Norma Reges, 42, told police that five other people were at the home and that two of them had gotten into an argument outside, according to court documents.
Norma Reges said a man named Richie shot a gun before everyone left in his blue car.
Officers asked Norma Reges if they could search the home to make sure no one was hurt. After she gave permission, officers found four pots of soil containing small marijuana plants in a closet. A tin of marijuana seeds was found on the kitchen counter.
Both Keith and Norma Reges are charged with two felony counts of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, as well as other counts of possession of a controlled substance, drug paraphernalia and disorderly house.
Both were placed in Butler County Prison on $25,000 bail.
