LANCASTER TWP — Police in Lancaster Township are asking anyone who witnessed a fatal accident on Route 19 Friday — or was driving on the road around 10:30 p.m. that night — to contact them, as they continue to investigate the incident.

One person, David Vandoren, 50, of Lancaster Township, was killed in the incident, police said.

Chief Deputy Coroner John Hanovick said the cause of death was blunt force trauma and the manner of death was accidental.

Lancaster Township police said the initial investigation found that Teresa Lim of Colorado was driving southbound on Route 19 when she passed a vehicle in a no-passing zone and hit Vandoren’s motorcycle head-on near Salt Works Road, according to initial reporting.

Hanovick said Vandoren was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash and “likely died on impact.”

The Harmony Fire District, Harmony EMS, and Jackson Township police assisted Lancaster Township officers at the scene.
